AGAIN BLASTED
ENEMY BASES IN LIBYA NAVAL AIRCRAFT ACTIVE. AGAINST LAND & SEA TARGETS. LONDON. October 17. A R.A.F. Middle East communique reports further attacks- on enemy bases and communications in the Mediterranean area. Heavy bombers attacked Benghazi Harbour on Wednesday night and caused fires on the moles. In the Bardia area a force of naval aircraft attacked an enemy dump, south of the Bardia-Tobruk road. In the Central Mediterranean, other naval aircraft attacked a merchant ship being towed by a tug off the coast of Tripolitania. All the British aircraft returned.
