WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
TE ORE ORE MEETING. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Te Ore Ore Women’s Institute was held recently when Mrs Mcßae presided over a fair attendance of members. Two new members, Mrs Griffin and Miss D. Kenny, were welcomed by the president. It was decided that the Institute make a donation to the Leper Fund.
A very pleasant time was spent by the members in practising “sick bed” making. The usual monthly parcel for a local soldier was also attended to.
The competitions were well supported, the winners being as follow:— Sponge cake: Mrs McDonald, 1; Mrs McLachlan, 2;, Mrs Te Tau, 3.’ Best bloom: Mrs McDonald, l;.'Mrs Albert, 2; Mrs Makera, 3. Best native bloom: Mrs McDonald and Mrs Mcßae, equal, 1; Mrs McLachlan, 3. The games competition was won by Mrs Costello and Miss D. Kenny, equal, while Mrs McLachlan won the wanderingshilling. The hostesses were Mesdames Nini and Albert.
