WAR FUND

SPECIAL DUTY ON SUGAR IN MAURITIUS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 15. To help the war effort Mauritius intends to levy a special additional duty on sugar of the 1941 and 1942 crops exported from the colony. Of an additional seven and half cents raised on every fifty kilos, six cents will be presented to his Majesty’s Government in furtherance of the war effort and l-J cents to Mauritius organisations in aid of the Allied forces. This measure proposed in the council of the Government was adopted unanimously.
