POWER BOARD

MEETING AT CARTERTON TODAY. CHARGES FOR WATER HEATING. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa' Electric" Power Board was held at Carterton today. The • chairman, Mr A. Campbell Pearce presided. There were also present Messrs J, W, Colquhoun, F. C. Daniell,. H. P. Hugo (Masterton), W. Howard Booth, G. W. Hart (Carterton), E. C. Holmes (Martinborough) and W. A. Tate (Greytown). An apology for absence was received from Mr M. B. Tait.

Accounts for £3,791 12s were passed.

Mr F. C. Daniell brought up the matter of charges for water heating. He submitted that the following question should be referred to the board’s legal advisers: —“Where power is purchased for water heating on a basis of monthly charges for oft peak loading according to tariff, can the board regulate or direct the use to which the water is put?”

It was decided to agree to Mr Daniell's suggestion.
