MADE BY NAVAL PLANES ON ENEMY MERCHANT SHIP IN MEDITERRANEAN. DESTROYER SEEN PICKING UP SURVIVORS. LONDON, October 15. In the Middle East naval aircraft attacked an enemy convoy in the Central Mediterranean. A med-ium-sized merchant ship was set on fire after receiving two direct hits and later was seen to be low in the water. One of the .escorting destroyers was seen to be picking up survivors. Heavy bombers started a big fire between the railway station and wireless station at Benghazi and works and shipping at Tripoli were also attacked. Enemy landing grounds north of the Derna-Tobruk road were likewise attacked.
