LE HAVRE BATTERED

NIGHT RAID BY R.A.F. SHIPS ATTACKED OFF DUTCH COAST. GERMAN FIGHTING PLANES HELD IN WEST. LONDON, October 15. British bombers last night attacked the docks at Le Havre, the objectives including quays and shipping in the harbour. Enemy shipping off the Dutch coast was also attacked. Our fighters destroyed five enemy fighters. From these

two operations seven bombers and one fighter are missing. The R.A.F. offensive on the Western front has been so heavy that the Germans have kept more than half their fighter aircraft in the west.
