Skill, W. H. Corfield, G. R. Sievers, F. Gray, W. Blissett, T. A. Hamilton, and G. P. Cotter. Apologies for absence were received from Councillors M. N. Hardie and M. Mulvaney. A motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr John McLeod. It was decided that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Featherston County Council in connection with the work carried out by the chairman and County' Clerk under the Emergency Precautions regulations. An account for benzine from T. Morgan, of Greytown, was held over as it was incurred in connection with the Home Guard. The ranger applied for a fortnight’s holiday leave of absence which was granted. The secretary of the Home Guard wrote thanking the council for help given. A letter was received from the secretary of the Swimming Club thanking the council for the facilities given the club during the past season, and assuring the council that every care would be taken of the council’s property.
