FLOOD DAMAGE

ROAD & RAIL TRAFFIC DELAYED POSITION NEAR WELLINGTON. FURTHER SLIP IN TAITA . GORGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 11. Some minor delays are still being suffered in the train service between Wellington and Paekakariki, owing to a single line only being in use between Plimmerton and Paekakariki. Electric traction has been restored and electric trains are again using the line that is open. Passengers by some trains are still being transported over the disorganised area by busses. Another slip came down in the Taita Gorge this morning, making it advisable to avoid using this route. A track was cleared in about an hour but the slip is by no means stable. The western route is clear for traffic.
