“EMERGENCY DRESS”

QUICK FITTING AND FINISH. The other day Miss Dorothy Lamour (the film star) rushed panic-stricken to Edith Head, Paramount designer, with the universal feminine cry, “I haven’t a thing to wear.” And she had promised to make an appearance in a benefit just two days off. With a bolt of turquoise silk crepe, Miss Head rose to the emergency. Miss Lamour took just enough time off from “Caught in the Draft” for one quick fitting, and overnight her costume was finished and delivered. Miss Lamour made her appearance in a dress featuring a softlydraped bodice, with high crossed neckline. The straight slim skirt had a draped overskirt hanging in soft impressed pleats. Diamond and ruby clips provided the finishing touches. The “emergency dress” brought Miss Lamour a deluge of compliments.
