4 LADIES’ GOLF SEASON TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY. (“Times-Age’ J Special.) A mixed foursome will be played over 16 holes on Saturday by the lady members who are asked to be on the links early to enable the draw to be made. The season will close on Saturday. Personal. Pte. H. Morris, of Rhodes Street, Carterton, has received notice to enter camp on November 1 for the duration of the war. ;Sheep Worrying. Mr H. J. Brown on Tuesday night lost a valuable ewe through being worried by straying dogs. When found on Wednesday morning the ewe was not dead but had been so badly injured that it had to be destroyed. Mr W. H. Steele, of the Royal Oak Hotel, also recently had several sheep worried. He fired a shot at a dog but did not hit it. Last evening apparently the same dogs were in the vicinity chasing and worrying cows and calves.
