VOLCANO ACTIVE
LAVA FLOW FORTY YARDS HIGH. • OBSERVATION POST IN DANGER. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) BATAVIA, October 8. A flow of lava of forty yards high, from Semeroc volcano, is nearing the vulcanological observation post which has been evacuated except for a Javanese observer, who insisted on staying at his own risk and who is reporting developments.
