BLACKOUT CONDITIONS
RELAXATION THIS WINTER IN BRITAIN. IMPROVEMENT IN LIGHTING. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, October 8. The Government has decided to relax the black-out of cities this winter. The improvement in street lighting is expected to be substantial compared with last winter. The Government, after taking expert advice, is now adopting the master-switch device, whereby all lights will automatically be turned out when enemy planes are approaching.
