MAURICEVILLE

HALL SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Mauriceville East Hall Society was held recently when the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— Chairman, Mr H. Myers Senr.; hon. secretary, Mr Geo. McWhirter; committee, Mesdames C. M. Childs, Geo. Wilson, J. W. Milner, Messrs J. A. Baine, A. Campbell, E. W.' Cheetham, J. L. McArley, Geo. Wilson, A. McGovern, and A. Wilkin.

VICTORY FAIR COMMITTEE WORKING HARD. Mrs Dagg and her energetic committee are working hard to make the produce stall an outstanding success at the coming Victory Fair, to be run by the Mauriceville-Ihuraua branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union in the Mauriceville Hall. The proceeds are in aid of comforts for the men of the Mercantile Marines and minesweepers. \ TENNIS EAST CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Mauriceville East Tennis Club, presided over by Mrs C. M. Childs, the following officers were elected: —President, Mrs C. M. Childs; hon. secretary, Mr N. Myers; club captain, Mr J. L. McArley; committee, Misses E. Wilkin, J. McGovern, Messrs H. Milner and R. Cculton.

The opening day was fixed for October 19, when a Yankee tournament would be held. The day promises to be a popular occasion.
