FEATHERSTON

KILLED IN ACTION LANCE-CORPORAL W. J. CHARLES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Another Featherston soldier has paid the supreme sacrifice. Mrs R. Charles has received official advice that her son, Lance Corporal W. J. Charles was killed in action in Crete on May 25. Lance Corporal Charles left with the anti-tank section with a Second Echelon. Much sympathy is extended to Mrs Charles and family. Personal. Mrs Wilkinson, Wellington, is relieving in the staff of the District High School, in place of Mr Goodwin, who is away on sick leave. Mr and Mrs K. McKenzie have received a letter from their son, Bruce, who is serving with the Royal New Zealand Air Force He has arrived in England, after training in Canada. Mrs Tobin (Wellington), and Mr and Mrs Lilley (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs C. Corlet, Pahautea.
