LAWN TENNIS
PARK CLUB ACTIVITIES. ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. The annual meeting of the Masterton Park Tennis Club was held in the Y.M.C.A.. rooms, Masterton, last night. Mr R. McEwen presided over a large attendance of members. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, October 18. Subscriptions were, fixed the same as last year, namely, ladies 27s Gd, men 355, intermediate 27s 6d, junior 17s Gd.
Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr T. Jordan: president, Mr L. S. Nicol; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Joy, F. Mills, Knowles, A. M. Sanson, G. T. O'Hara Smith. W. Batty and A. Dixon; hon. secretary-treasurer, Miss B. Martel; hon. auditor. Miss Selby; club captain, Mr R. McEwen; handicappers, Misses B. Martel, J. Thornton and Mr R. McEwen; Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association delegate, Mr R. McEwen; ladder steward, Mr K. E. Forrest; committee, Misses J. Thornton, P. Andrews, L. Kilgour and Messrs K. Forrest and E. Handyside.
