MASTERTON MEETING

FIRST DAY ACCEPTANCES EXCELLENT FIELDS. INDICATIONS OF SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (By “THE GRAFTER.”) The spring meeting of the Masterton Racing Club will open on the Opaki racecourse on Thursday, the first event commencing at 11.45 a.m. The acceptances should provide excellent racing, the contestants for the most part being of equal standard of ability which should result in close finishes. The train arrangements should pTove convenient to patrons beyond Masterton, while motor and bus services will run at convenient intervals to and from the racecourse. The betting facilities will meet with the approval of patrons being on the win and place system. The secretary and the stewards have been working hard in order that the arrangements may be complete in every detail. The course is in excellent order and with the splendid surroundings—an uninterrupted view of each race is to be seen, with a two-furlong straight—there is everything available for those present to spend an enjoyable time.
