WOMEN’S DIVISION
v RANGITUMAU BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’' 1 Union was held in the hall recently when Mrs James presided over a large attendance of members and visitors. It was announced that Mrs Duckett has consented to give a demonstration on making smocked aprons. Members contributed a large collection of jams which will be forwarded to the A.N.A. The winner of the competition for marmalade and jam was Mrs Duckett, who also received first prize for a bowl of bulbs A memory contest was won by Mrs Wright. The blooms competition resulted as follows: One bloom, Mrs Duckett 1, Mrs Wrigley 2. Three blooms, Mrs Wrigley and Miss Harvey 1, Mrs Duckett 2.
The hostesses were Misses J. Wilton and F. Kemble.
The competition for next month will be the best article made from a sugar bag.
