WEDDING GREEN—PIKE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The marriage took place on Tuesday last at Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, Wellington, of Amy Vera, only daughter of Mr and Mrs I. W. Pike, Wellington, and Aircraftman. Norman Edgar Gordon Green, R.N.Z.A.F., younger son of Mr and Mrs W. Green, of Parkville. The Rev. P. Paris performed the ceremony. The bride, who wore a fur-trimmed chocolate brown ensemble with dark brown hat and accessories and a spray of freesias, was attended by Mrs A. Fitchett (Wellington) as Matron of Honour, who was attired in a light blue costume with a black 'hat and accessories. Mr A. Fitchett attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Grand Hotel, where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs W. Green. Personal Items. Prior to her departure from Eketahuna on Friday last to take up a position in Wanganui, the District Nurse, Miss C. Dean, was met by the committee of the Eketahuna sub-branch of the Red Cross Society and presented with a crystal jug and tumblers. In making the presentation, the president, Mr V. G. Wimsett voiced the regret of all interested in the Red Cross Society at Nurse Dean’s departure. Mr Wimsett paid a tribute to the manner in which Miss Dean had carried out her duties as district nurse and as instructor. The excellent results achieved by candidates at recent examinations were mainly due to her able coaching. Her place would be difficult to fill. All members joined in wishing her good luck in the future. Miss Dean suitably returned thanks. Mrs A. S. Carter, Anderson Street, has returned home greatly benefited in health after a lengthy stay in the hospital. Miss L. J. Hislop today commenced her duties as relieving District Nurse.
