WEDDING
TE TAU-GREEN. A pretty wedding of interest to a large number of residents in the Wairarapa took place at the Presbyterian Church, Carterton, on Saturday afternoon when Caroline Madge, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Green, Belvedere Road, Carterton, was married to Edward (“Ted”), eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Te Tau, Landsdowne, Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. J. Couling, and Miss V. Irwin presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a becoming gown of cream satin, cut on classical lines, surmounted by a wedding veil (lent by a x.eiw. She carried a sheaf of arum ..i.es. ivirs Richard Barrett (Carterton) ..as m attendance as Matron of Hon- ■ ar and Misses Joyce Benge (Dannevirke) and Waireka Nini (Masterton) as bridesmaids. Mrs Barnett wore a dress of blue taffeta and the bridesmaids wore pink taffeta dresses, with forget-me-not blue bows. All carried posies to tone. Mr R. Barrett was best man and Messrs E. Te Huki (Masterton) and J. Lennihan (Carterton) were the groomsmen. Mr S. Green, Junr., was usher at the church. The reception was held at the resi-i dence of the bride’s parents in Belvedere Street, where Mesdames Green and Te Tau received over fifty intimate friends and relatives. Mrs Green wore a navy frock with posy to tone, and Mrs Te Tau was' attired ina navy and red ensemble with a shoulder spray to match. Many congratulatory telegrams were received from all parts of New Zealand. When Mr and Mrs E. Te Tau left on a motor tour of the North the bride wore an Air Force blue costume with accessories to tone. Their future home will be in Masterton.
