MUCH DAMAGE DONE
IN ITALIAN RAILWAY TOWN r.a.f. bombs factories & POWER station. LIBYAN BASES AND CONVOY ALSO ATTACKED. LONDON, October 5. The R.A.F. skimmed over the housetops to bomb an important railway junction, Marina Di Catanzaro, in the south of Italy. People watched the planes from the streets without attempting to take cover. The attack caused considerable damage. A number of factories were blown up and warehouses, a power station and a railways goods depot and siding were also attacked. Bardia Harbour and an enemy convoy near Solium were also attacked. From all these operations one plane is missing.
