A sum of £5 was donated jflfl UMfl'to the A. and P. Association the use of the room for meetings, etc, during the year. Mr M. Armstrong, Government Veterinarian, gave an interesting address on diseases of pregnant ewes. He explained how almost all the diseases were caused through the feed supply falling away when it was needed most, i.e, in the later stages of pregnancy. Thus if this deficiency was not made good by supplementary fodder, ewes were bound to break down, as they had • to use body fat to nourish the developing lamb, which put a severe strain on the liver, which had to convert the fat to digestible nutriments. Mr Armstrong dealt in detail with certain diseases of ewes, and indicated the symptoms and’ treatment necessary to meet the trouble. -
