NURSES’ ASSOCIATION

WAIRARAPA BRANCH. WELFARE OF CRIPPLED CHILDREN. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association was held in the Nurses’ Home at the Mastertoil Hospital. The president (Mrs W. James) presided over a large attendance. Matters in connection with the Nurse Matthew’s Fund were discussed. Mrs S. N. Kilgour, Welfare Officer for the Crippled Children’s Society, gave an interesting account of the recent conference of the Society. She stressed the importance of early treatment and the value of vocational therapy to all crippled patients. Mrs James, on behalf of members, thanked Mrs Kilgour for her address. It was decided to hold the annual meeting in November.

The serving of supper brought to a close an interesting meeting.
