EKETAHUNA
DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times- Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Eketahuna District High School Committee was held on Wednesday evening when there were present Messrs H. E. Greathead (chair), K. Murray, R. Farrow, S. Daniel (secretary), J. Tolley and the Headmaster, Mr A. B. Fordyce. Leave of absence was granted Mr H. Rogers. Accounts amounting to 12s 6d were passed. Mr R. Farrow was appointed the Committee’s representative on the Tararua Calf Club. A vote of appreciation was passed to the Wairarapa Automobile Association for its assistance in placing warning signs on the school bus route at Rongomai. It was decided to write to the Automobile Association in respect to a pedestrian crossing in the vicinity of the Dental Clinic. Regret was expressed by members that the pupils of the Eketahuna School were not invited to attend at Masterton on the occasion of the recent visit of the Governor-General and Lady Newall. Messrs Greathead and Murray were appointed a visiting committee for the month. The Headmaster reported that the Primary roll stood at 164 and the Secondary roll at 46. Except for a few isolated cases of measles the health of the children and attendance at the school were good. Personal Items. Private Noel Parsons, who has been home on sick leave, has returned to Waiouru Camp. Private R. Steer has returned to Waioruru Camp after having spent leave with his parents. Mr and Mrs W.
