WOMEN’S DIVISION BOOK CLUB CLOSED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held recently, it was decided to close the library service that has been in operation at the East Hall for some years past. Support of the Book Club has fallen off considerably of late and it was deemed advisable to close it for 12 months at least. Victory Fair. The cake stall at the Victory Fair to be conducted by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union in the Mauriceville East Hall will be in the capable hands of Mrs Baine and her committee. There will be an excellent variety of cakes for sale. The proceeds will be spent in providing comforts for the men of the mercantile marine and minesweepers. Home Guard. In connection with the Home Guard parade on Saturday afternoon, the members of the Women’s Institute has kindly offered to provide light refreshments for. the men.
