EKETAHUNA

WOMEN’S DIVISION ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEXT MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Eketahuna branch cf the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held recently. _ The meeting opened with the singing oj the New .Zealand National Anthem, followed by the creed and prayer. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Albrechtsen and Miss A. Anderson.

It was decided to have a free afternoon at the meeting in November, no charge to be made for tea, etc., and to make the afternoon a social one. Fourteen dozen eggs were sent from Eketahuna to the Masterton Provincial Executive to be forwarded with their collection to orphanages in Wellington. This makes forty dozen which have been forwarded. It was decided to send a hamper to the A.N.A. Club in October, and members were asked to bring their contributions to the next meeting.

Mrs Terry gave a most interesting demonstration of making bags and purses from old felt hats. This was enjoyed by all present and many beautiful bags were displayed. A competition, afteroon tea partners, caused much amusement. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Schorman and Murray Morris. The singing of the National Anthem brought the afternoon to a close.
