HARRIER ACTIVITIES
MASTERTON CLUB. VISIT TO MAURICEVILLE. At the kind invitation of Mr and Mrs 1.. D. Cameron, the final run of the season was hold by the Masterton Harrier Club from their residence at Mauriceville. The event which was of a friendly nature was over a varied course of 31 miles, consisting of mostly hilly country with a mile of road to the finish. Twelve runners left the mark including two old members, in L. A. Keats and J. J. Hunter, who by their dash showed that at least they still had the general idea of how to rtfn. After the event afternoon tea was served and was much appreciated by all. In a neat speech. Mr C. Ross, vicecaptain, thanked Mr and Mrs I. D. Cameron for their hospitality. Mr J. Robertson, M.P., and Mr J. J. Hunter, also spoke. Mr Cameron in- reply said that he was glad to see that in spite of the loss of many members who were now serving overseas in the New Zealand forces, the club had managed to keep going. At his request those present stood in silence for one minute, wishing all rqembers overseas a safe return.
