DRUIDS’ LODGE

BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. ' RITUAL CONTEST HELD. The fortnightly meeting of the Stonehenge Lodge of Druids was held last night, A.D. Bro. A. G. Swinn, presiding over a large attendance. The matter of a brother who was in arrears with his dues was left to the trustees to be dealt with. Favourable reports were received on seven members.on the sick list. Sick pay and accounts totalling £l9 12s 2d were passed. A member who recently underwent an operation was welcomed back to the lodge. He thanked members who had visited him while he was in hospital.

A report on the eleventh dance was presented by P.A. Bro. W. R. Pawson and thanks were accorded to Bros. T. W. Pickett, the ladies’ committee and members who had assisted in making the dance the success it was. D.P. Bro, A. J. Deu, of Carterton; P.D.P. Bro. Stretton and P.A. Bro. Fryer, of Totara Lodge, were visitors and were welcomed with Druidic honours. These officers acted as judges of a ritual contest held between two teams of officers and members. The contest proved interesting and instructive.

At the conclusion of business a social evening was held.
