RED STAR CLUB annual meeting last night. TWO-DAY SENIOR MATCHES FAVOURED. The annual meeting of the Red Star Cricket Club was held in the Savage Club Rooms last night. There was a large attendance presided over by Mr A. L. Paterson. _ ■ Before commencing the business of the evening the chairman asked all present to stand for a minute in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of Mrs A. Hoar and Messrs A. Styles, I. McWhinnie, and W. Swain. The’balance sheet and annual report were read, and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr L. J. Matthews; president, Mr E. Iveson; vice-presi-dents, Messrs C. Perry, H. B. Thomas, W. Fly, G. Masters, F. Dohnt, P. Prescott, G. R. Croll; club captain, Mr F. Hoar; auditor, Mr A. L. Paterson; Treasure. Mr B. Wilmshurst; secretary, Mr G. B. Peterson; social committee, Messrs L. Bellworthy, H. Corlett, A. Bell, A. L. Paterson, E. Mooney, C. Roys; delegates to the Wairarapa Cricket Association, Messrs L. Bellworthy, H. Corlett, F. Hoar, A. Bell: management committee. Messrs F. Hoar, W. Peterson, J. Renner, A. Bell, C. Rols.

New members were elected as follows: F. Williams, T. Grant, J. Davies, I. Forrester, L. Mackenzie, K. Rue, C. Morgan. It was moved by Mr W. J. Peterson and seconded by Mr A. Bell that the club enter one senior and two junior teams in the Wairarapa competition. The motion was carried. It was decided on the motion cf Mr A. Bell, seconded by Mr N. Hoar, that the club send Christmas parcels to club members serving overseas. On the motion of Mr A. Bellworthy, seconded by Mr R. Hoar, it was decided that the delegates to the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Cricket Association be instructed to support twoday* cricket matches in the senior competition. The subscriptions were fixed at the same amounts as last season. Mr L. Bellworthy and Mr H. Corlett were appointed to organise the two junior teams for the first match. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the business. WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION FORTY-SEVENTH ANNUAL REPORT. ACTIVITIES REVIEWED. The forty-seventh annual report of the Wairarapa Cricket Association which will be presented to the annual meeting tonight states inter alia: —The association's finances are in quite a satisfactory condition, bearing in mind the expenses incurred in the representative match at Christmas. The club competitions resulted: Senior championship, winners, Red Star Cricket Club; runners up, Wairarapa College. Junior championship, winners, Martinborough Cricket Club; runnersup, Red Star and Old Boys (equal). Bidwill Cup: Winners, Red Star Cricket Club. Junior Knock-out Cup: Winners, Red Star Cricket Club. Arthur Floar Memorial Cup, winner, W. Peterson (Red Star). D. K. Logan Memorial Cup, winner, N. Hoar (Red Star). Our congratulations are offered to the above-mentioned teams and individual players. The results of the representative matches played were as follow: Wairarapa v Hawke’s Bay, at Masterton: Wairarapa, Ist innings 272, 2nd innings 173 for seven wickets; Hawke’s Bay, Ist innings 233, 2nd innings 193. Wairarapa won by three wickets. Wairarapa v Hawke’s Bay, at Hawke’s Bay: Wairarapa, Ist innings, 210, for seven wickets; Hawke’s Bay, Ist innings 186. Wairarapa juniors v Hawke’s Bay, at Masterton: Wairarapa, Ist innings 215, 2nd innings 232 for five wickets. Hawke’s Bay, Ist innings 252, 2nd innings 183. Wairarapa won by five wickets. Wairarapa juniors v Hawke’s Bay, at Hawke’s Bay: Wairarapa, Ist innings 18, 2nd innings 96; Hawke’s Bay, Ist innings 305. A win for Hawke’s Bay by an innings and 201 runs. The attendances of delegates were as follow: E. S. Smith 7, G. V. Greer 4, J. Magill 5, P. G. Ramsay 1, A. L. Patterson 6, W. 'Whiteman 7, D. Groves 3, G. Barr 6, G. B. Peterson 7. During the season Mr G. V. Greer handed in his resignation and this was received with much regret. Mr Greer is now engaged in military service overseas. Your management committee wish to thank all those who assisted during the season—umpires, selectors, officers of the association and others. The publicity given by the Press was invaluable and very much appreciated. To the Masterton Borough Council and the Wairarapa College committees many thanks are expressed for the use of the grounds and appreciation and thanks are extended to the respective groundsmen. We also desire to place on record the services rendered by Mr G. V. Greer, who resigned to take up military duties. Your committee desires to thank all clubs for the support given them during the past season.
