Frankfurt and other towns in Western Germany were bombed by the R.A.F. last night. Coastal Command aircraft also attacked objectives on or near the French coast. An Air Ministry communique states: -Objectives at Genoa, Turin and elsewhere in Northern Italy were attacked by the Bomber Command last night. At Genoa, industrial areas were bombed and. large fires were caused in docks. “Other aircraft, attacked targets in Western Germany. including Frankfurt. “Five aircraft of the Bomber Command are missing. “Coastal Command planes attacked an oil depot and refineries at St. Nazaire. Two of our planes are missing." LORRIES SET ON FIRE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.30 a.m.) RUGBY. September 29. R.A.F. fighters today attacked a convoy of lorries near Dieppe, with cannon and machine-gun fire. Five lorries were set on fire. ROME REPORT (Received This Day. 9.10 a.m.) LONDON. September 29. A Rome communique states that the R.A.F. last night raided Milan. Genoa. Spezia, Marsala, Rhodes and Trapani.
