MASTERTON RACES
SPRING MEETING NEXT WEEK EXCELLENT PROSPECTS FOR SUCCESS. SPLENDID COURSE FOR PATRONS.
(BY
“THE GRAFTER.")
The prospects in connection with the Masterton Racing Chib’s spring meeting are of the brightest. The first event each day will commence at 11.45 a.m., and this should suit the convenience of patrons from beyond Masterton for whom a special train service has been arranged. Special trains ■will journey from Wellington and from Palmerston North and back at times which should prove acceptable to racing patrons. The buildings on the course have been recently painted and renovated and the surroundings are in splendid order. The course itself is’ one of the best in the Dominion, particularly from a spectator’s point of view as a race can be seen clearly throughout and there is a two-furlong straight. The class of horse nominated for the meeting is such that interesting racing will be provided and there is likely to be some thrilling finishes. The Masterton Racing Chib’s meeting is always looked upon as an indication of form for the Wellington and C.J.C. New Zealand Cup meetings. Acceptances will close on Monday, October 6.
