EXCELSIOR TEAMS VISIT TO WANGANUI. SENIOR TEAM BEAT ARAMOHO. Senior and junior teams from the Excelsior Club journeyed to Wanganui '•on Saturday to try conclusions with teams from the Wanganui Association. A most enjoyable time was spent and the players returned home last evening well satisfied ’with their outing. The games were played at Gonville. The juniors played first but as there is no junior competition in Wanganui this season, they were out of their class when matched against the Kaiwhaiki Club, a team which contained several players with New Zealand tournament experience. In the circumstances they did exceptionally well to score two goals against their opponents, who won by six goals to two. The seniors were matched against their old rivals Aramoho, and after a scratchy start owing to lack of combination due to xhe absence of three of their regular players, settled down in the second spell to win by 4 goals to 1, after being one down at the interval. Conditions were not conducive .to good hockey, a strong wind blowing throughout and long grass on the field of play frequently upsetting the calculations of the players.
