MARTINBOROUGH
CRICKET club ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The eighth annual meeting of Lie Martinborough Cricket Club was hold last night. The report stated that a very satisfactory season had been experienced, though the war had had a very serious effect on the membership, and at the close of the season it was difficult to field a team. The balance-sheet showed a- credit of £3 5s Id. Mr Flynn was elected secretary, and Messrs I. Charles, Murphy, Holland, Johns and Bishop a committee. After discussing the prospects for the season it was decided to leave the matter of entering a team for the Wairarapa competition till a later date. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr W. B. Martin for the assistance given by him throughout the past season. Euchre Tourney. The Home and School Association held a euchre tourney last night. The winners were: Ladies’ section, Mrs Whitehead 1, Mrs L. Boyd 2. Men, Mr T. Stumbles 1, Mr F. Duffy 2.
