NAZI MENACES
BULGARIA CALLED ON TO ENTER WAR ACCORDING TO TURKISH REPORT. BLACK LIST COMPILED BY GESTAPO. (British OlTicial Wireless.) LONDON, September 26. An Ankara message stales that Germany is reported io have sent a Note to Bulgaria demanding her immediate entry into the war against Russia. otherwise Germany will consider that Bulgaria lias violated her pael will) the Reieh ami the German army will occupy the country. Tlie Note also demands the use, of Bulgarian ships, ports and aerodromes. The impression prevails in Turkey that Bulgaria will enter the war. The Russian Tass news agency, says a full-scale German occupation of Bulgaria is believed to be imminent. Several German divisions are concentrated on the frontier of Bulgaria and Rumania. The Germans are demanding the suppression of Bulgarian disturbances and the Gestapo has compiled a black list of persons who must be removed from office. BRITISH PLANES FOUR ARRIVE IN TURKEY. FIRST OF CONSIGNMENT OF TOMAHAWKS. LONDON, September 26. The Ankara correspondent of the Associated Press says that four British-owned American Tomahawk fighters have arrived at a Turkish aerodrome. They are stated to be the first of a consignment of Tomahawks which the British are releasing to Turkey from the hundreds now reaching British aerodromes in the Middle East from America. Another Ankara message states that a London firm has secured a contract amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds for reconstructing the piers and improving the harbour facilities at Alexandretta and Mersin.
