OBITUARY

I MR JOSEPH HAWKE. The death occurred at the Greytown Hospital this morning of Mr Joseph Hawke, at the age of 80 years. Mr Hawke was the third son of the late Mr H. Hawke, of Kurawhiti Street, Greytown. He was associated with the printing trade for many years, being on the staff of the “Wairarapa Standard” in the early days of that paper’s existence. He later carried out his trade in Wellington and Napier. He retired from business in Napier. His wife predeceased him some years ago. There is no family. Messrs Charles (Masterton), John (Masterton), George, Frederick (Napier) and Harry Hawke (Auckland) are brothers and Mrs Bailey (Eketahuna) is a sister. The funeral will take place at Napier on Monday.
