Air D. C. Kidd, member for Waitaki, who has been the guest of Air Alex Young, Alasterton, returned south this afternoon. Having enjoyed a life that has been singularly free from serious illness, Air W. A. Weekes, Maxwell’s Line, Awapuni, reached the age of 100 years yesterday. The Rt. Reverend H. St. Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington, has begun a tour of the Wairarapa parishes, and will conduct the annual Confirmation service at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow night. The reappointment of Alessrs George Lawn and Mark Silverstone as directors of the Reserve Bank was announced last night by the Alinister of Finance, Mr Nash. Their terms of office recently expired. “No change in the management of the bank is proposed,” said IVIr Nash, when he was asked if a governor was to be ap--pointed. Mr W. F. L. Ward is the acting-governor. A.t the seventh annual meeting of the New Zealand Alotor Trade Federation in Wellington, the election of officers resulted: President, Mr A. B. Gibbons, Wellington; vice-president. Mr H. Anderson. Wellington; treasurer. Air D. F. Bauchop, Wellington; representative on the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, Mr C. R. Edmond, Wellington; secretary, Air C. R. Edmond; hon auditor. All- I. J. Alackersey. After being in ill-health for many years, Mr Douglas AlcCulloch has died at Napier Public Hospital. Air McCulloch was a South African War veteran and a returned soldier of the Great War. He took up fruitgrowing I at Havelock North many years ago. Air AlcCulloch was also a member of the Hastings Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Society, where he obtained many first prizes and North Island championships with his Silver Wyandotte fowls, both in fancy and utility sections.
