-» — BRING AND BUY SUCCESSFUL RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very successful bring-and-buy afternoon was held at Mrs Bloxams home yesterday. Tea was served by members of St John’s Guild. Two boxes of chocolate were competed for, these being wan by Mis H. Clark and Mr R. P. Hardy. Jhe effort was very successful.. At the bring-and-buy shop day, held in Featherston Miss Eva Card was the winner of the goose which she has donated to the Kelvin Hospital. Hockey Match. The men members of the Post Office staff have challenged the Featherston ladies’ hockey team to a match, which is to be played on Saturday m the school grounds. Personal Items. Miss E. Gcbel, of Wellington, is on the relieving staff of the Featherston District High School. Mrs Charles and her daughter, Mrs Lonie, left yesterday for Napier, where they will spend a few days. Red Cross Society. A case of goods containing 7 pullovers, 7 pairs of socks, 6 dozen handkerchiefs, 10 sponge bags. 1 dozen jug covers 1J dozen bucket covers and ll dozen glass covers, has been despatched to the Wairarapa Centre. The Featherston sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, assisted by next-of-kin, packed and dispatched parcels to Reginald Cherry and Ronald Blain, who are piisoners of war in Greece, and Germany, respectively. EARLY LAMB. Th” first of the new reason’s lamb is being sold by Mr W. H. Davis, butcher, Fcx Street, Featherston. The lambs, which have been reared in the South Wairarapa. are of particularly good quality and weight, from 30 to 341bs each.
