SCOTTISH CHILDREN
INTRODUCED TO THEIR EXCELLENCIES. Incidents which prove the great ainci kindly interest of their Excellencies, Sir Cyril and Lady Newall, in the children, took place at the big gathering of children in Masterton Park yesterday. When Sir Cyril was moving among Central School children, the headmaster, Mr E. G. Coddington, suggested to the Military Secretary that perhaps his Excellency might consent to have Robert Stewart, a little Briton from Edinburgh, introduced to him. This Sir Cyril immediately consented to and chatted freely with Robbie about the sights of Edinburgh. Later on, Mr Coddington asked Lady Newall if he might present to her Christina Stewart and once again there was a ready assent and Christina’s eyes shone as her Excellency chatted about her home town and advised her to set a good example to all and to keep up the good name of Scotland. Robbie and Christina went home very proud 'and happy children.
