NAZI THREAT
COMPLETE OCCUPATION OF BULGARIA UNLESS SHE ENTERS WAR. ROUND UP OF OPPONENTS. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. September 23. An Ankara message to the “New— York Times” says the Germans are threatening complete occupation of Bulgaria unless she enters the war against Russia. The German Ambassador to Turkey, Herr von Papen, has arrived at Sofia on his return journey to Ankara. Blackout tests are reported to have been carried out in Sofia, and at two leading Bulgarian Black Sea ports, which are stated to be crammed with supply ships manned by German seamen. It is also reported that Bulgarian troops stationed on the Turkish frontier have now been moved to an unknown destination. There has also been a round-up of all potential opponents of closer collaboration with the Germans. About 130 alleged Comnr nists have been sent to German concentration camps. A Communist deputy in the Bulgarian Parliament has been executed.
