HUNDRED NAZI PLANES
SHOT DOWN BY RUSSIANS AGAINST LOSS OF 21. CISORDERLY ENEMY RETREAT IN CENTRE. LONDON. September 22. A Moscow communique states that on Saturday 100 German planes were destroyed. The Russians lost 21. It is stated, according to another report, that the Germans are still on the run in the central sector. This battle is considered by the Russians to be the most important victory they have wen since the war began. There is evidence of a disorderly retreat by the Germans.
