PORT OF DAKAR
DEFENDED BY FRENCHMEN ALONE ACCORDING TO VICHY. NAZI PENETRATION DENIED. LONDON, September 22. The Vichy Government has adopted new plans for the defence of Dakar, which, it is stated, will be defended against any who might attack it For some time there have been persisted rumours of German penetration, but this is denied. The defence of Dakar, it is stated, is being entrusted to Frenchmen and to Frenchmen alone.
