A number of United States newspapers today published articles referring to the “dwindling influence” of the isolationist movement in the United States. The “New York Times” published a long article by its chief Washington correspondent, Mr Arthur Krock, referring to definite signs of a change in the attitude of the anti-war involvement group in Congress. One significant indication, the correspondent says, is the stand taken by the American Legion Convention last week. The Convention voted unanimously, “If fighting is necessary to defend the United States, we insist on being prepared to do fighting outside the United States.”
