DAFFODIL DAY

“MIDDLE RUN” GATHERING

LARGE NUMBER OF VISITORS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Gloriously fine weather favoured the annual “daffodil day” function held by the generosity of Mr and Mrs Henry Booth on their “Middle Run” property on Saturday afternoon. There was a large attendance of visitors from all parts of the Wairarapa. The funds of the Carterton branch of the Plunket Society will benefit considerably Irom the function.

To the visitors the walk up the winding driveway flanked by clumps of daffodils was particularly pleasant. The sight of about five acres of glorious blooms on the hillside on the western approach to the homestead was well worth seeing. Opportunity was taken by the visitors to pick great bunches of flowers, but at the end ol the day there was little to indicate that any blooms had been picked. Mr and Mrs Booth entertained those present at afternoon tea in the drawing room. A capable band of ladies assisted the host and hostess.
