LONGBUSH
FAREWELL GATHERING MRS MILLINGTON ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most enjoyable evening was spent recently when the residents of Longbush and their friends gathered together to farewell Mrs H. Millington, who has left the district. Mrs Millington had been a resident of Longbush for many years.
Mr Palmer, in presenting a handsome oak clock, suitably inscribed, to the guest of the evening, spoke of the friendly feelings and good neighbourship that had existed at all times between Mrs Millington and the residents of the district. All regretted her departure. Replying on behalf of Mrs Millington, Mr E. G. Eton, thanked all for their gift and reminded them that Mrs Millington would not be far away, as she was taking up her residence in Masterton.
Dancing, together with competitions, and supper, provided a most enjoyable evening and the singing of Auld Lang Syne and God Save the King concluded the gathering.
