Hockey Notes. The senior men travelled to Upper Hutt on Saturday and were beaten by the local eleven by 5 goals to 3. The Greytown team hopes to play a return match against Upper Hutt next Saturday or at an early date. Saturday saw the last of the competitive games for the hockey season, when Kia Kaha travelled to Masterton to meet their old rivals. The . local team was obliged to draw on its junior players to fill its ranks. For all that they and all the rest gave a splendid account of themselves, even though beaten by the largest score recorded against them for the season. The game was very fast. Territorially, Grey town more than held their own. Excelsior s goals came from those fast breakaways which form the chief characteristic of their scpring movements, the local backs not possessing quite sufficient speed to hold them back.
