FASCIST RIOT
IN ISLE OF MAN INTERNMENT CAMP GREAT FORBEARANCE SHOWN BY GUARD. UNDER ATTACK WITH STONES & BOTTLES. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) LONDON, September 21. A. riot broke out in Peel, at the Isle of Man internment camp, last night, when 600 Fascists demanded the return to the camp of three captured escapees, who had been put in the camp prison. The demand was refused and three rioters were put in the prison. The others then attacked the guard with stones and bottles. Scenes continued through the night, until the rioters were tired out. The guard stood with loaded rifles, but, under Home Office orders, were not allowed to fire unless men were caught getting through the barbed wire, which none attempted to do. The residents of Peel were unable to sleep owing to the noise. They are wondering what will happen tonight. The camp today is littered with broken glass and bottles.
