LADIES’ ASSOCIATION SEASON OFFICIALLY CLOSED. EASY WIN FOR EXCELSIOR TEAMS. The hockey season was brought to an official close on Saturday afternoon when, the finals of the Kia Toa Cup (senior) and Morris Cup ( junior) were decided. The Excelsior Club was the holder of both cups and had no difficulty in retaining possession, the seniors defeating Greytown by 4 goals io nil, and the juniors having an easy win over College A by 9 goals to 2. The senior game was a hard struggle for about 20 minutes, but after that Greytown’s form faded, and the final result was not in doubt. Excelsior put on two goals in the first half and added another two early in the second spell. During the last quarter of an hour, Exselsior played one short, their centreforward,. Miss N. Page, having to retire with a leg injury.
Both teams were short of their regular complement of players, but were well served by substitutes, the Greytown right full-back in particular playing a splendid game for so youthful a player.
