TOBRUK GARRISON SALUTES ODESSA.
LONDON-MOSCOW GREETINGS
LONDON, September 20
The commander of the Tobruk garrison has sent the following message to the commander of the garrison at Odessa: “We in besieged Tobruk salute the resolution and fighting spirit with which we have learned to associate your country and with which you and your gallant garrison are facing your great task. From our African stronghold we follow your adventures with admiration. We wish you all good luck and a continuation of your success. May the enemy soon be overthrown.”
Replying yesterday to a message expressing London’s sympathy with the people of Moscow, sent by the chairman of the London County Council, the chairman of the Moscow Soviet said: “Calmly and confidently we meet the enemy and successfully repel his air raids. The population of Moscow are absolutely confident that together with the people of Great Britain, final victory over Hitler and Fascism is assured.
