Mrs J. M. Coradine, Perry Street. Masterton. who has been visiting Wellington, returned home today. The friends of Mrs J. F. Jaine, Lansdowne, will regret to hear of the death of her mother, Mrs J. T. Clarke, Waimate.

The death occurred at a private hospital in Wellington yesterday morning after a short illness, of Mrs Jessie Agnes Jones, wife of the Minister of Defence, Mr Jones. Born in Dunedin, Mrs Jones was a daughter of Mr John Hudson, and was educated in Dunedin, and married Mr Jones in 1910. Mrs Jones was a member of the Dunedin South branch of the Labour Party, and of the Dunedin women’s branch of the organisation. She was president since its inception of the Air Force Relations organisation. There are three sons. The oldest, Private Frederick Jones, a married man with one child, left New Zealand with the second echelon. The second son, Mr Arthur Jones, has been accepted for the Royal New Zealand Air Force and is waiting to be called, and the youngest, Mr Cyril Jones, is employed by the Post and- Telegraph Department.
