MOTOR FATALITY
TRUCK STRIKES POLE ACCIDENT AT HASTINGS. GIRL DIES FROM INJURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, September 21. As a result of a motor accident at 1.30 yesterday morning a young woman received injuries from which she later died, and another woman and a man were injured. The victims were: • KILLED. Edna Hoy, aged 18, INJURED. Allen Hoy, aged 22. Normie Simonson, aged 18. Miss Hoy was admitted to the Memorial Hospital, Hastings, with head and body injuries. Her condition was critical on admission and she died early this morning. Mr Hoy, driver of the vehicle, was admitted to the Memorial Hospital with head injuries, and Miss Simonson received shock and minor injuries which necessitated medical attention at her home. The accident occured when a truck in which the party was travellingstruck a telephone pole at the intersection of King and St. Aubyn Streets. Mr Hoy is employed by Mr C. F. McKenzie, Havelock North, owner of the truck involved in the accident, and the two women have been employed at Braemore Home, Havelock North.
