SOUTH FEATHERSTON
WAR SERVICE DANCE WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the euchre tourney and dance held in the South Featherston Hall on Thursday night by the War Service Committee. Udy's Orchestra supplied the music for the dancing and Miss M. Tocker played an extra. Mr H. Graham was M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzes were Won by Mr F. Higginson and Miss H. Ahipene and by Mr C. Buck and Mrs Davis. A lucky spot competition was won by Miss M. Tocker and partner. The euchre prize-winners were:—Ladies: Mrs G. Cuff, 1; Mrs Mclntosh and Mrs Worsley (equal), 2. Men: Mrs F. Burt, 1; Mr J. Thompson, 2. Supper was served by a capable ladies’ committee. The winning number of the cake donated by Mrs A. Robertson was 459. I Personal, Mr and Mrs J. Blain, of South Featherston, have received word through Geneva that their son, Lance Corporal Roland Blain, is a prisoner of war in Germany, and that he is.fit anc i and not wounded.
